Scanning

Rescanned and uploaded Roll 37. Trying out fluid mount on a new scanner that I picked up at an estate sale. So far, I think I am happy with the results. The whole process overall is a bit slow and messy, but it seems like the results are better and in the long run, faster, since I am not rescanning near as many times before I get the results that I want.

Revisiting Gov. Dodge

Brady’s Bluff

This weekend was a camping trip.  Met up with my friend Andy from La Crosse and pitched a tent at Merrick State Park just north of Fountain City.  We had originally intended to camp at Perrot, but they did not have any sites open.

After getting all set up, we returned to Perrot and hit the trails.  Was a bit of an intense hike, but a good one.

After a bit of a rest in the hammock, we trekked out to find dinner and discovered an Irish pub in Fountain City.  Beer around the camp fire and time to retire.  There were threats of storms overnight, but none materialized and I was able to keep my tent open to experience the nights air.

State Park Sticker

Finally got around to picking up a Wisconsin State Park Sticker. I have been bad about this the last few years, but decided to change that. Did some hiking out at Gov. Dodge State Park yesterday and today made it out to Lake Kegonsa. Intending to get out and do a lot more hiking. Been a bit of a slacker lately.

Camping Prep

Been way too long since I have been out camping. Decided that this weekend, I am heading up to Clark County camping with a friend. Couple years ago, we had camped at Levis Trow Mounds campground and we are aiming to pitch tent there again.

The campground is not too much of a campground. There is just a handfull of sites there to support people that want to stay overnight at the Levis Trow Mounds recreational area. There are plenty of trails in the area and it should be a nice get away. I have also been looking at other parks to maybe visit a bit.
