Decided to slip out for a bit tonight and shoot a few pictures. The sky was a bit hazy, so I was not able to shoot what I originally was thinking, but I managed to get a few good shots of the Capitol. Kinda wanting to see if I can composite the images together to balance out the exposure, since the Capitol itself was lit much better than the surrounding buildings.

While in Chicago for the weekend, we decided to try out a brew pub I had came across. Overall impressions of the Haymaker were decent food, but they still need to work on their talents with beer. First I ordered a pint of their IPA. Not great, not bad, not a pint. They served their beers in a wine glass. I got maybe about half of what I asked for. After that, decided to give their tripel a try. Definitely not the beer I was expecting. Maybe I should have expected less when the waiter did not even know how to pronounce it.

Have had a good weekend in Chicago. Did not officially go to Bear Pride, but spent some time loitering at the hotel. Was good to get to meet and hang out with several friends that I have not got to see for a long time. For the most part, a pretty relaxed weekend.

I always seem to forget to update this place. Hopefully now that we are getting into summer, I will have more stuff going on to report about. Few weeks ago I did a nice road trip hitting San Antonio, New Orleans, and Nashville. Photos from that excursion are available in the Photo Gallery.

While trying to fix a few problems with my Gallery, I managed to completely break my website. So spent this evening rebuilding it. All my content appears to be back to normal, but still rebuilding the Gallery. Guess this will be a good opportunity to get all my photos into proper order and everything.

I have been fighting with Charter since I have moved into my new apartment. Tonight I finally tracked down what the issue was with my account. I now just need to get them to fix the issue. Apparently, when I called in my move order, they created a new account for me, but never disconnected my old account. They did not disconnect my old service until the becoming of this month and have been charging me for service at both apartments.

Ashley is home and starting to get settled in. She has been spending a lot of time hiding underneath my quilt rack at the bottom of the steps. Just noticed as I was typing she found Ratbert and was looking curiously at him. I have really been enjoying having her around even though she is still very shy. She tends to stay in her hiding space right now unless I coax her out. Typically just a little bit of petting and she is coming out to look around.

Having not slept well last night, I pretty much passed out as soon as I got home from work. Was out for about 4 hours on the couch and now back in the wide awake point. Naps never seem to play nicely with me.
At least tonight is a beautiful night out. Nice cool breeze. Just lazy and restless at the moment.

Got the call finally from my new Landlord and everything is set for me to sign my lease. Excited to be moving. Will be nice to be somewhere that actually has airflow through it. Dropping off deposit and picking up keys on the 1st after work and then I can get started moving. :-)

Told the new landlord that I was planning on adopting Ashley and she was happy for me finally getting to have a pet. Guess too many placess around town just are not friendly to cats.

I love stormy weather. The thunder and lightning excites me. I have tried several times and succeeded a few times to capture good pictures of lightning.

Have really been hoping that this storm tonight helps cool off the apartment. Apparently the Air Conditioner decided it was a good time to die. Not much luck though, unless I want to sleep on the floor in front of the patio door.
